Our Story

Bonapeti is a group of entrepreneurs, chefs, and tech experts who share a love of real food, strong flavours, fermentation, and healthy balanced eating. We aim to make sophisticated vegetarian and vegan food convenient and affordable for everyone.

Bonapeti is for time-pressed people wanting to add more plant-based food to their diet. It’s also for people who are fed up with fad diet and detox programmes. We believe that people are now ready to make a lasting shift towards more healthy plant-based eating.

We are committed to serving locally sourced food from sustainable sources, and organic wherever possible. Local and sustainable sourcing is an effective way to manage diminishing resources and reduce environmental impact.

Howard Beale’s own preference for a plant-based diet led him to set up Bonapeti: “I chose to switch to a mostly plant-based, low sugar, wheat, yeast, dairy and gluten-free diet and was amazed by the results. Along the way, I discovered stunning new tastes, textures and combinations; food that excites your senses and leaves you feeling great. We aim to share this taste adventure with as many people as possible”.

A simple menu that changes daily with 2 options for your main course and one side and one dessert.

The Bonapeti menu changes regularly and seasonally. Imagination, meticulous sourcing of ingredients, complex and careful preparation, and dishes that catch your eye are all at the heart of our food. All Bonapeti food comes from sustainable sources where possible; local, organic and British.

Meat eaters will be delighted to try the adventurous, wholesome vegan and vegetarian dishes as an alternative to a regular meat meal. There are also raw dishes and ‘free-from’ options for those wanting to avoid wheat, gluten, dairy, refined sugar, and nuts. Free-from options are clearly marked on the menu, and all dishes come with ingredients, nutritional and allergen information clearly labelled.

Our dishes contain no hydrogenated oils, trans fats, refined syrups, artificial additives, flavourings, preservatives, or excessive salt. Our food may be made on equipment or prepared in areas containing nuts, soya, dairy, and flours containing gluten. Please consider this if you have an extreme allergy.

Howard Beale

Founder / CEO

Howard knows first-hand the incredible effects of changing your diet for the better. A few years ago he switched to a mostly plant-based diet and was amazed by the results. He felt this sort of healthy, tasty yet affordable food should be available to everyone and the idea for Bonapeti was born. He is founder of NetDeco, an online retailer of decorative home accessories and furniture, and is a director of Ardington Services Ltd (Early Learning Centre), a retail group which specialises in creating and developing niche home shopping and retail brands. Previously, Howard founded successful marcoms startup (The Fish Can Sing) and worked with large companies Hill and Knowlton (WPP Plc) and Sunday Telegraph (Telegraph Media Group).

Sam Pryor

Co-founder / Food Operations

Sam has worked in restaurants all over the world from New York to Melbourne, London to Verbier, from busy gastro pubs to a 2 year stint at Michelin 3* restaurant The Fat Duck. He then branched out from kitchens to hotels, where he was deputy manager of Pelham House, a 4* hotel. Asides from cooking, Sam has been very involved in creating and developing environmentally sustainable programmes. Previously, he was also business development manager at engineering firm, SeaRoc, where he guided the software division from start-up to being a significant player in the renewable energy sector.

Co-founder / Engineering

Dan has been working at the cutting edge of software development for over 15 years, working as a web and mobile developer. He has been involved in developing and architecting the core technology behind a number of startups, as well as working with larger companies such as Motorola and Thomson Reuters.

Everette Taylor

Growth Marketing

Everette had the privilege of helping start GrowthHackers.com with renowned entrepreneur Sean Ellis and leading marketing efforts there. He’s also worked on growth marketing projects for celebrity author Neil Strauss, NFL Player Brandian Ross, Qualaroo, United Way, Unity Over Self Clothing, Moblized, and others. He was interested in Bonapeti firstly on a personal level, as his family has dealt with high blood pressure and diabetes generation after generation. Working with Bonapeti gives him an opportunity to help those looking to lead a healthier lifestyle through great tasting food.

Our chefs have a passion for great food and respect for quality ingredients, and bring their creativity and flair to create and cook delicious, healthy and original dishes for you.

They honed their skills at leading restaurants including: Nopi, The Fat Duck,Terre à Terre, Nobu and Maze and, inspired by working under great chefs such as Yotam Ottolenghi, bring a wealth of specialist expertise to every single Bonapeti dish.

The team draws on flavours and techniques from around the world to create a unique and varied eating experience. The freshest seasonal ingredients are used to create a striking mix of colours, bright robust flavours and textures.

We also work with a number of guest chefs who bring their enthusiasm and knowledge to help design deliciously healthy menus.

How it works

Handmade fresh on the day

Our wonderfully fresh and wholesome meals are cooked from scratch each day. Filling yet light and packed with flavour they are perfect for lunch or dinner – the easy way to eat well every day.

Same day ordering

Order dinner for tonight or meals for the week. Same day orders must be placed before 12pm for delivery that afternoon or evening. Dishes ordered days in advance are delivered on the highlighted ‘delivery day’.

Delivered to your door

We deliver Daytime between 11am and 5pm and Evening between 5pm and 9pm. Our delivery charge is £5 per day. Select your delivery option at the Checkout. If you’re not going to be home, just provide instructions at the Checkout for our driver to leave your box with a neighbour or in a safe place.

Ready in minutes

Our meals are pre-prepared and delivered chilled in a special chill box. No cooking required! Dishes are ready to eat or need just a few minutes heating.

How Bonapeti works

Handmade fresh on the day

Meals are freshly made each day by our expert chefs using only the finest ingredients and real whole foods, locally-sourced and organic wherever possible, for delivery that day to your door. All our food is sourced from sustainable sources. We cook in small batches which means dishes sell out fast. And because everything is freshly made and contains no additives or preservatives, dishes are best eaten within 2-3 days.

Eco-friendly

All our meals come in environmentally-friendly packaging. Recyclable trays and bowls. Recyclable plastic dessert containers and pots made from recycled plastic. Our specially designed chill box is made from recycled materials and is lined with thermal biodegradable and compostable sheep wool. Return it to us and receive 10% off your next order.

Same day ordering

Order dinner for tonight or meals for the week, days in advance. No subscription or minimum charge. Same day orders must be placed before 12pm for delivery later that afternoon or evening. Food is prepared and delivered fresh each day, so if you order days in advance, meals will be delivered on the highlighted ‘delivery day’. If your plans change, no problem, you can change your order by adding or removing items, or cancel completely. Filter the menu for dishes tailored to your specific dietary requirements.
